On December 9th, the Dubin Breast Center of the Tisch Cancer Institute at Mount Sinai hosted its annual benefit at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in Manhattan, celebrating the extraordinary patients, physicians, staff, caregivers, and supporters who have contributed to the Center’s success since its founding 14 years ago. Jill Martin, NBC’s TODAY lifestyle contributor, was honored for her advocacy in breast cancer awareness, testing, and wellness.

The evening was a smashing success, raising $5 million and bringing together more than 960 guests including family, friends, Health System leadership, Trustees, staff, and other supporters. This year’s event, which was chaired by Anne and Joel Ehrenkranz and Jana Pasquel de Shapiro and Adam Shapiro, honored Dennis S. Charney, MD, who will step down on June 30 after 18 years of leadership and service as the Anne and Joel Ehrenkranz Dean of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and President for Academic Affairs.

In late September, Rachel Vreeman, MD, MS, Chair of the Department of Health System Design and Global Health at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and Brendan G. Carr, MD, MS, Chief Executive Officer and Professor and Kenneth L. Davis Distinguished Chair of the Mount Sinai Health System, appeared with the President of Guyana and the Prime Minister of Nepal during the UN General Assembly and the Concordia Summit. In early 2024, Clinique Laboratories made a donation of $5M to the Kimberly and Eric J. Waldman Department of Dermatology at the Icahn School of Medicine to study and better understand healthy skin. The philanthropic partnership established the Mount Sinai-Clinique Healthy Skin Center, a virtual research enterprise with Emma Guttman-Yassky, MD, PhD, Chair of the Waldman Department of Dermatology, as the inaugural director. One year later, we take a look at the unique story behind this special philanthropic partnership and what it has enabled in the Center’s first year of existence.
