Designed for Women: The Rowan Center

Newly opened on the corner of 99th Street and Madison Avenue in the heart of the Upper East Side, the Carolyn Rowan Center for Women’s Health and Wellness at Mount Sinai unites women’s health services at a single location—elevating care to a level of luxury. Carolyn Rowan set out to help future generations of women experience a lifetime of well-being in mind and body, and receive care and attention of the highest quality. The Rowan Center is her vision realized.

A Groundbreaking Celebration

To mark the official start of construction on the Mount Sinai Tisch Cancer Hospital, a ceremonial groundbreaking was held with visionary philanthropic leaders James S. Tisch, Chairman Emeritus of the Mount Sinai Health System Boards of Trustees, and Merryl H. Tisch, EdD. The Tisch's transformational support brought this milestone project to life, and the gathering celebrated not only the beginning of construction, but also a shared commitment to advancing cancer care for patients and families from across New York City and the world.

Honoring Marilyn Monroe’s Legacy: Mental Health for the Arts

This year is the 100th birthday of Marilyn Monroe, the legendary film star. Although Ms. Monroe passed away at the young age of 36, her legacy continues to shine in new ways—most recently at Mount Sinai through the vision of philanthropist Lori Hall, who is advancing a cause close to Ms. Monroe’s heart, and in her name: support for the mental health needs of the performing arts community.

Scholarships Power Bright Futures

Two future physicians at Mount Sinai took different paths on their medical education journeys, and they are about to arrive at a similar destination—in part because of student scholarships.
